Last night I got a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that didn’t go in his favor. Then it got better.
Talking to my wife when I got home she revealed that he called her first and before she referred him to me I guess he tried the same “lower payment, new car” bit on her and to her everlasting credit she just simply said “Why would we want a new car payment?” She said he sounded really let down when the call was over.
That’s my girl.

I’d like to do business with you, I really would...and you have the car I want and your price is fair...but I just can’t. I’m sorry.

WTF? Kill your barber then kill yourself. Looks like they used that hair in a can spray to give him a straight hairline.

My response to the ‘lower payment’ bit is to just say I don’t care about the payment, I want a good price. The payment will be whatever it will be.

I just look at it and think...well, yeah of course it will be a lower payment, I’m trading in a vehicle with residual value for a new long term loan...why would it go up?

This is a strong reaction to my comment

Hope you understand I am speaking about the guy in the picture and clearly not you. He needs to kill his barber, then himself.

Some dealers are relentless with the follow-up calls. My wife gets an “offer” probably once every other month for a buyback on her Corolla. Considering she’s already had 3 recalls on it, and the radio works sometimes (car has 74k on it), and she likes nothing in the current Toyota lineup, it’s a rather hard sell for them.
And then there's the Nissan dealer who is still trying to buy back my car I got rid of four years ago.

She's a keeper.
